La sixième semaine

We've slowed down a great deal this week. We've had a week of really exceptional weather - cold to mild but beautifully sunny, so we have been making the most of it, having drinks or supper with friends, going for walks. It's actually a bit stressful when I remember that we only have two weeks left, so we're trying not to think about it too much.

An impromptu selfie on a baguette run
On Wednesday we were led on a walking tour (in French) by our beloved teacher Michael. This time we explored Pigalle, wandering streets that were once part of a little village, that eventually became the heart of bohemian Paris. After racking up over 15,000 steps, we ended the afternoon en terrasse, having a glass or two with friends in the sunshine.

Late afternoon (aka happy hour)
We've spent a bit of time with our classmates/friends this week. Yesterday we invited our class to our apartment for lunch after our lesson; everyone bought along cheese, tomatoes, baguettes, charcuterie, crisps, wine, beer etc. Even though we were 8 and we only had 6 chairs, it was lovely! Paris is a bit like London in that the first sign of sunshine has everybody pouring outside, sitting in every sunny spot; so we found ourselves en terrasse again admiring the sunset and drinking dreadful €5 cocktails. We're very happy here!

Friday evening

A few more photos from our sunny Saturday, during which we walked to the 6ème for some excellent Chinese soup dumplings and noodles, then wandered back by some shops and the bouquinistes, where we bought a print for the princely sum of €1:

No coats!

Coat back on again!

Bon week-end to you all! xxx
